Confidentiality & data security
Discretion is part of the work, not an add-on.
Investigative research only works when the people who bring us a matter can trust how their information is handled. These are the principles we work by.
Principles
Confidentiality is foundational
Discretion is not an add-on to investigative work — it is the work. Client matters are treated as confidential by default.
Collected only when necessary
We ask for the information a matter actually requires, and nothing beyond it.
Restricted access
Access to client information is limited to the people working on the matter.
Secure transmission and storage
Information is transmitted and stored using protected, access-controlled methods rather than casual channels.
Responsible retention
Information is retained only as long as there is a legitimate professional or legal reason to keep it.
Secure destruction
When information is no longer needed, it is destroyed rather than left in place.
Client information is not sold
We do not sell, rent, or trade client information, and we do not use it for marketing by third parties.
Providers chosen carefully
Third-party data and delivery providers are selected with security and privacy practices in mind.
Background screening
Screening information is treated the same way.
Our upcoming Colorado SB25-003 background screening service is being built around these same principles. Until the service launches, we do not collect dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's-license information, identity documents, or screening authorizations through this website.
Colorado SB25-003 screeningNotes
- Formal retention schedules are being finalized as part of our written information policy; we do not publish a specific retention period until that policy is complete.
- Third-party data and delivery providers are evaluated for their security and privacy practices before we use them.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade client information, and we do not share it except as needed to perform the work or as required by law.
